472: Appreciating the majestic beauty of the universe using our tiny human brain with Prof. Brian Greene

Professor Brian Greene is a world renowned theoretical physicist, mathematician, and string theorist.

The primary goal of string theory is to unify the two pillars of modern physics, quantum mechanics and general relativity.

Among his most influential contributions are the first semi-realistic models based on explicit string compactifications, the discovery of mirror symmetry, and early calculations of microwave background imprints of quantum gravity.

He is the director of Columbia’s Center for Theoretical Physics.

Chairman of the World Science Festival since co-founding it in 2008

To speak with an academic like Brian is an incredible honour. And you actually have the chance to be in the same room as him in a few weeks from now.

Details of Brian Greene's shows in Australia and New Zealand are here.
