@nomeatathlete Kale Shake special
The other day, Matt Frazier @nomeatathlete came to my house to record a great episode of my podcast.
Too nervous to cook for him, instead I whipped up a Kale shake for us to sip while we chatted.
Here’s the recipe:
- 4-6 stalks of dino kale
- 2 quartered apples
- 2-3 peeled, frozen bananas
- handful of mint
- chunk of ginger
- big handful of chia seeds
- less than a tablespoon coconut oil
- squirt of flaxseed oil
- 1 tray of icecubes
- 1/2-1L of water (1-2 pints in old money)
- 2 tablespoons of Body Science Vegan Antioxidant
First blend up all the kale and fruit with some water to make room in the blender, then pop in everything else. Set Vitamix to “annihilate”. The ice cubes and frozen bananas help keep the mixture from heating up.
These amounts make a lot, so pour it into some mason jars to pop in fridge to enjoy throughout the day and the next morning.
There’s a lot of power in this, I’ve run a 1/2 trail marathon on a Quart of it and two cups of coffee.
